Kylie nursed for the majority of the afternoon, it's almost like she knew I had to go to work so she was soaking in every minute with me. I had big plans for getting some of the house clean and dishes done, but everything got put on hold and we nursed. Craig watched her while I went to teach one lesson and ran to the store. When I got home I received exciting news...Craig had been put "on call" for the night. This means that he doesn't have to go in, he just has to be available to go in at anytime during his shift, and if he does get called in, then he gets paid time and a half. So we were very excited, to have an evening together where he didn't have to rush off, yeah! And he would be able to watch Kylie during my lesson from 8-9pm so she wouldn't have to be at the studio during her roughest hour. So we had dinner and walked down to market night. We bought fresh vegetables and fruit, every time Craig's phone rang we held our breath hoping it was not work calling him in. But that didn't last long, at about 7:30 (30 min after the start of his shift), Craig got a phone call. They were not calling him, just yet, but they wanted to give him a heads up that they would be calling him in if they admitted another kid during the night. So Craig went home to get ready for work and I kept Kylie at the studio. She was sleeping in my arms when it was time for me to teach, so needless to say, she was not super happy to be woken up and handed off. She actually ended up crying for the entire hour that I was teaching. It broke my heart, I could see Kerry and Stephanie both trying everything they could to calm her, but I knew it wasn't working. She has a hard time at the end of the day even when she is at home with me, so put her at the studio without mom or dad and she was a mess. As soon as I was done teaching I went to the office and picked her up, she stopped crying right away but she still looked so sad :o( It is just heartbreaking when she cries, I don't know how many more times we can do that, I hope it will be better next week when my parents and sister are back in town.
So at this point Craig was still at home waiting for the call to come in, which he received right before he came down and brought us home. I hope he is doing well, he didn't take a nap like he usually does because he was thinking he wouldn't be going in for very much of a shift, but he actually ended up being there for almost the entire time, oh well.
So Kylie is still teething, she really enjoys biting on our fingers and sucking her big toe. She is still kicking like it's going out of style, we feel like her kicking is somewhat excessive and we are worried that she probably has some kind of disorder, I guess that's what you get when you have parents that are nurses :o) Ok well time for bed, tomorrow Kylie gets to meet her new cousin Liam, she is so excited!
More to come soon,
Natalie
