So. What are we so amazed, surprised, entertained....yada yada yada by? I'll list a couple things.
Amazing: The fact that she is just over 3-months old and has a head of hair like a 30 year old (before it starts falling out),
Surprising: Our little one, at 3-months, is already showing very noticeable signs of teething (the need to wear a around the clock bib because she drools on everything and chewing on anything that comes within 1 foot of her mouth). Nat and I weren't expecting this until 6-months...ish.
Entertaining: Have you ever seen a little human laugh (or give her version), hold themselves up on their elbows while tummy lying, roll-over (or try as hard as humanly possible), kick their legs and swing their arms faster than I've ever attempted, or babble on so long you can't even imagine what they must be trying to say (she only makes two sounds, but boy does she know how to use them)? Well if you have seen any of this stuff then it's easy to understand why we're entertained. If you haven't?....come over any time you need a little entertainment. After each of her acts she does a great Gladiator impersenation: "ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!".
Inspiring: Watching our little pumpkin (sleeping with a nose so stuffy she can't breath, a temperature of 100.0, a leg that is band aided because of shots, and a mouth full of sore gums) wake up, take one look at Nat and I, and break into the biggest smile that either one of us has ever seen. Can we really wake up on the "wrong side of the bed" after that?
One last thing for today. The "can of worms". The two nurses in the house have now, inadvertently, added another medical disorder to our "hypocondriac's guide to parenting". Nat, for a while now, has been talking about getting a new camera. I, was tired of picking up all the dropped hints around the house, so I decided to surprise her with one I found on Craig's list. The good: Nat now has a great camera to take pictures of Kylie (and a few other things) with. The bad: The camera takes pictures up to 3 frames per second. Bad? yep. Imagine sitting on a dance floor, right in front of the strobe light...all night. Seizure disorder is now on our list.
More to come soon,
-Craig-
p.s. Uncle Kyle came into town today, and Kylie stayed up about two hours past her normal bed time. She was having way to much fun hanging out and discussing issues related to having a name starting with "KYL" and ending in "E".
