Kylie May and Her San Diego Day 90

What would a weekend in which we hung out with Samantha, Thad, Michele, Aunt Trudy, Grandpa Gene, Grandma Gloria, Grandpa David, Grandma Didi, Auntie Erica, Auntie Quin, Auntie Alisa, Papa, Mimi, Uncle Kyle, Sean, Madison, 20,000 Giants fans, and 10,000 Padres fans be without seeing a few more friends?  That's right....it would be incomplete.  To help keep Kylie from feeling cheated Nat and I packed up the car, waved bye to the Hampton Inn and headed to North County.  We had a great time hanging out with Niels, Marissa, and their two girls.  Kylie said "yeah. this is nice, but aren't there any new people I can meet?"  In an effort to oblige our happy camper Niels put a call in to an old Outback friend.  It made Kylie happy because she got to meet Ben and Megan (they will teach you to surf someday soon little one.  You just have to be able to sit up by yourself I think), and it made us happy because we hadn't gotten to talk to them since they got married in March.  It was fun to reconnect.

The rest of our day included a short jaunt around Carlsbad farmer's market (Kylie wanted everything of course), a bite to eat at a small deli, and then an hour or two spent down in the sand.  We went to Newport for Mother's Day, but this was our little "beach bum in the making"'s first time putting her toes in the sand.  hmmm...how did she like it?   Lets just say it was a cross between amusement, fear, and curiosity.  I'd say that's a pretty good start (maybe that's just my optimism talking). :-)  We are about to spend a week in Cayucos for "Beach Week" and she needs to have at least a little beach time under her belt by then.  It was so much fun to sit down in the sand and watch our little girl wiggle her toes around in it.

A car ride home and a little sand rinse off in the sink was about all our little girl could handle before accepting Mr. Sandman's dreamy invitation.  I guess I might accept one of those too about now, but I'll leave with some pictures from today's adventures.

more to come soon,

-Craig-
