Kylie's day from 10am-6pm: Visiting Emily and Jessie (and their new baby, Liam). Sounds like Kylie had a lot of fun getting to be the bigger baby again. She loves getting to be the bigger one, and give all kinds of advice to the newer infants of the world. I think sometimes she just makes up half the stuff she tells these kids, but what is a dad to do? After meeting the new baby, Kylie was pretty toasty (it was a hot Redlands day) so she packed Nat up and drove her over to grandma Gloria and grandpa Gene's for some pool play time (I was glad to see from the pictures that Kylie opted out of skinny dipping for once). She is really turning into a little water baby. She just loves bath time and pool time these days. It has started to become one of her many "favorite" activities. After a fun pool party with cousin Adam, cousin Ryan, Aunt Jo, great gma, and great gpa, our little manatee finally decided she'd dry off and come check to see how I was doing at home...
meanwhile... My day from 10am-6pm: zzzzzz....sleeping
I guess a very thorough and official compare and constratual analysis clearly verifies that Kylie's day was way better than mine
. No wonder Kylie is so sad to see Nat go to work. Since tonight was a Brandin Iron night for Nat, I was left with the privilige of entertaining our little bell for a couple hours. We did what we do best. We read a couple books (at least I think the Iliad and the Odyssey counts as a two books) and then hit the open road for an evening walk around town. To our surprise the Redlands Bowl (a local outdoor amphitheater that puts on free shows all summer) was in full effect with hundreds (maybe even thousands?) of people picnicing out on the grass. Kylie just loved the environment. she snuggled into her favorite position and we just cruised through the crowds as the band played. I see plenty of Redlands Bowl trips in our not to distant future.
I got her home just in time for her 8:30 meltdown time, which is so predictable and interesting at the same time. Every night (at least the ones where she is not with Nat) she has a nice fussy time from 8:30 to 9:00. After that, she smiles and is happy as can be until she falls asleep. I guess someone told her that being sweet all day is too overrated.
Shortly after the meltdown ended Nat came home, Kylie got a bath (which she loved), had a great kicking time, and then we all climbed into bed as a family (very rare phenomena these days). Another happy day in the life of Kylie May.
more to come soon,

Who knew that "The itsy bitsy spider" could be so much fun? (or was this picture from the time that she told me the knock knock joke....I can't remember) |
Kylie told me later..."had it not been for Gma holding me back, I would have been back stroking all over that pool" |
Kylie was thankful to be learning aquatic fun from a trained professional today. |
okay now what was I supposed to do again? |
oh yeah! Splash and go crazy! |
It's now evident that we have unleashed the beast |
Sometimes a moment of reflection is just what the Dr. ordered after a good swim |
Or just some good toe to mouth time. She has been getting so good at finding her toes over the last week |
Dr. Evil would be proud |
Ambidextrous toe sucking...what!? This is unheard of. |
Just to prove to the naysayers that she can in fact still chomp on her fingers too. |
