Today Kylie had her 9 month doctors appointment. She is now 31 inches long and 18lbs 3oz, wow! Our pediatrician, Dr. Kateriae, is awesome, he is a holistic physician and always taking his time to educate us. Kylie did very well with her physical exam until we got to the end. Dr. K was looking at her legs and it appeared that one leg was a little shorter then the other, when he then assessed her hips he felt like one of them was rotated back a little. He wanted us to go get an x-ray to make sure it was not something more serious, then he suggested we see a chiropractor and have her hip adjusted. Ahhh, what an X-ray? So as soon as we left his office we went down the road to another medical office and signed in at radiology. Kylie did really well, when we got in the room, the x-ray tech had me change her diaper and undress her from the waist down. I had to then hold her legs together while they took one image, and then hold her legs like a frog while they took another. She laid there very still soaking it all in. All the machines and noises were very interesting, I think it also helped that she was very sleepy and ready for a nap. We hope to get the results within the next few days and hopefully a trip to the chiropractor is all she will need. I have been telling Craig (for a while now) that I have wanted to get her adjusted. Lately she seems to have a hard time getting comfortable when she is nursing and it takes her a while to get comfortable at night. I am hoping that maybe she has just been out of alingment and once we get her adjusted she might sleep better and maybe start crawling on her hands and knees. Maybe it has just been to hard to do it with her hip rotated, who knows.
Once we got home Kylie took a nap, not a very long nap however, then she was back up and ready for more adventuring. So we went to the kids swap (consignment store) and found her a couple little clothing items for Christmas. Next stop World Discovery Toy Store where I made a few more Christmas purchases, oh so fun! Then it was back home for some food and another nap, at least that was the plan, but Miss May was not interested in rest time. So we were off again, this time to the dance studio for my rehearsal. Kylie enjoyed playing with Bailey and watching Miguel and I dance. Home again, home again (at this point Kylie is very sleepy and it's about 5 pm) and Daddy is up! So Kylie played with her daddy, had a delicious dinner and got in her pj's. I put her down then went to teach my line dance class. About 30 minutes after I left Miss May decided that it was no longer bed time. So when I got home she was up, I tried putting her back down, but instead it was like a contact improvisation routine in our bed. She was climbing all over me, rolling around, sitting up, laying down, laughing, talking, cooing, nursing. 45 minutes later and I decided that it was not working so we went to the living room to play. After some good play time and another big meal it was 10:45 and she was finally read to go to sleep. What on earth is going on? I hope that tomorrow will be better, we will stick closer to home and make sure she gets some good naps, at least that's the plan :o)
More to come soon,
Natalie
