Kylie May Helps Celebrate Nat's 30th Birthday 286

There are many milestones in life. I think 30 is one of them.  I'm sure 40, 50, 60...and beyond will be big too, but, for now those are just a figment of our imaginations. I guess we'll deal with 30 and handle the rest of those as they come.  For the last few months the million dollar question has been, "How do you celebrate a 30th birthday with a 9-month old?". Two days ago the question expanded to, "How do you celebrate a 30th birthday with a sick 9-month old?" Today we discovered the answer. Leave her with grandma and grandpa! It was so nice of Grandpa Gene and Grandma Carol to watch Kylie today while Nat and I spent an afternoon together at Glen Ivy Spa (just think Disneyland for spa goers).  A massage, mud bath exfoliation, mineral hot springs, time in the steam room, and a relaxing shower all greeted Nat with a big "Happy Birthday!" After a few hours of fun and relaxation we missed the Mini May and headed home. By the time we got there, we were completely relaxed, Gpa and Gma were exhausted, and our little child was running around the room (which was littered with every one of Kylie's toys and books), having the time of her life.  The little busy bee just keeps you running...literally.

Tonight we had a huge blowout bash at the Kodak theater in Hollywood (oh wait that wasn't us, we just saw that on TV).  We did, however, have a nice dinner at home with the family.  Sometimes, that is just about as good as it gets.  There was cake, singing, candle blowing, and what else you really need?

Even though turning 30  can be hard (don't mock all you post 30 year olds), I think Nat is embracing the fact that in her 30's she can enjoy being a mom, an RN, and a wife.  She has reached all the milestones she hoped to achieve before 30 and now she can just fine tune the rest.  Happy Birthday Nat!

Kylie just now realized it wasn't her birthday all day, bur her mommy's instead. (I think she thought all the Facebook posts and text messages were for her).  Yours will come soon enough little munchkin.

More to come soon,

Craig

"Oh. You're there with a camera." "Who? Me? No. I would never dream of stepping on this delicious looking cake in front of me."

Ok. Fork over the contraband young lady.  She has been known to chipmunk blueberry skins. These particular ones lasted about 20 minutes hidden in her cheeks.

"Mom. If you let go of my hands I can't guarantee I wont pull those candles out, throw them on the floor, and send the cake following after."

"Can I please help you blow the candles out though?"
