When we were kids, the only things that got us out of bed before 9 with a smile on our faces were Christmas morning, Easter egg hunt, and our birthday. Today we added another to this list. We'll give you two guesses what it is. It has four teeth and loves to say "wow". What? You still haven't guessed? It would have to be the one and only Kylie May that holds this overwhelming power over us. We've been hearing about Kylie's impeccable record of waking up at 8:21 every morning on her own, and we were eager to volunteer to babysit so Natalie and Craig could get a few more Z's. Kylie was as happy as a bee in a vault of molten honey to be playing with us for two and a half hours. We played, we rattled, we ate, we walked, and we talked. We are happy to report that Kylie did not shed one tear on our watch. It would break our hearts to see Kylie crying while in our care, so we were happy that our few hours alone together was a happy time for us all.
After a few hours of playing with us, Kylie was excited to see her mommy and daddy. We all took turns entertaining her with 30+ year old toys that grandma has been saving for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing with her new doll from Uncle Tim and her musical walker from Roy and Renae. Despite the busy few days she's had, she has regained enough of her energy to be quite the character. There is nothing like the sight of twelve adults getting more excitement by watching the baby play than the baby gets from playing. She was full of squeals, and words like "woahhhhh", "wow", "da da da da", and "ma ma ma ma ma". We've been doing our best to encourage crawling, but she did her fair share of walking and chasing today. Auntie Quin loved pretending to run away from "Monster Kylie", and Kylie thought it was a very funny game. Kylie opened a few more of her presents today, and was happy to see a tea set from Uncle Mike and Auntie Jill. She wasted no time in putting the spoon in her mouth, only to find that nothing was there. Nonetheless, she still had fun playing with it, and we were all imagining the countless tea parties she will hold in the future. Another fun gift that Kylie opened today was from Uncle Kyle; although she was a little bit unsure of her Cabbage Patch doll named Macy Autumn, we're sure they will warm up to each other soon enough. All in all, everyone had a relaxing day full of games, food, and laughter in the company of family. Since this will most likely be our last guest entry on this blog, we would each like to leave a little message for our little angel so she'll always be able to read it and see how special she is to us.
Kylie May, you should know that I am the one that types out our guest blogs, and your Auntie Quin always gets mad at me for writing your name so much. If it were up to me I would put your name in every sentence because I love thinking about you. You are such a joy in my life, and it brings a smile to my face just seeing your picture or thinking of your name. I have been so excited for this Christmas because I knew it meant spending time with you and the rest of our family. You are perfect Kylie, and no matter how far away I may be, I am always just a phone call away. I love you so much Kylie May!

Kylie Bear ( I've taken to calling you that during this visit.. who knows if it will last), as much as I hate to admit it, that is a hard message to follow. I love to tease your Auntie Ouiser and tell her she is not as good of an Aunt as me, but the truth is that she and I, as well as our whole family, love you more than we can say. We jump at the chance to spend time with you, dread the times when we have to leave you and spend as much time as possible thinking about you and the joy you bring to our lives. Last year at this time, it was hard to imagine having a little baby around all of the time, but now we can't imagine a world without you. I hope that wherever we are in a year or 10 years or 20 years from now, that you will always remember how much you are loved by me and our whole family. I love you soo soo soo much Kylie May Johnson (more so's= more than Auntie Ouiser hehe)

So, she doesn't exactly know how to open presents yet... |
 |
But it doesn't mean she doesn't enjoy what's inside. |
 |
No one tells a story like Grammy. |

It's a mirror! |

"Mom, you didn't tell me I had a twin!" |
 |
Poor Kylie sucked and sucked, but she found no treasure in the Cabbage Patch bottle. |
