9 months old. I'd like to say that she has now been out of the tummy as long as she was in it...but...our little monkey decided Nat's belly was pretty comfy, so she didn't get around to rolling out of there till almost two weeks late (I guess we'll revisit the "out as long as in" thing in a couple weeks). I think she has always seemed mature for her age (maybe because she was born so late), and tonight she did nothing to dissuade that notion. Checklist of things that make her seem older than she is:
1. Overflowing hair (check)
2. Taller than most year old babies we know (check)
3. Sitting up and smiling for the camera at a couple months old (check)
4. Wanting to walk when she was 8 months old (check)
Today she did one more thing that "older" people do. She celebrated her 9-month unbirthday with a giant meal. I mean isn't that how most adults usher in another anniversary of their 21st birthday? Ok. so maybe it isn't a true birthday, but lets not split hairs here. I often reference the Very Hungry Caterpillar and it must be because the inch worm shares eating habits with little "hungry hippo" Kylie. Here was her dining wrap sheet for the 9-month extravaganza: carrots, sweet potato, squash, cottage cheese (hands down her favorite), avocado, banana, grapes (the new food for today...she love em), oatmeal, and peas. A royal feast, parents who cater to her every need (day or night), a shiny diamond crusted (or was it dried peas crusted on there) throne, yep....no doubt who the queen of this castle is.
