Kylie spent the first part of her day playing at home with mommy, daddy and Auntie Melissa. Her and I took a couple nice naps together and she enjoyed the cool "winter" weather walking outside with her daddy. As you all know, Kylie has been wanting to walk around the house (and just about everywhere else), we will humor her for a little bit then encourage her to learn to crawl. So this afternoon Melissa poses the question, "I wonder how long Kylie would walk for if we just kept walking with her?" Interesting question, we all wanted to know the answer. So Auntie Melissa started walking with Kylie around the house (thank goodness it makes a little circle). Down the hall Kylie would come, through the kitchen, through the dinning room, sometimes a quick stop in the living room and back down the hall. We think it was around lap 7 (or so) that we thought, wow, we didn't really expect this, can't believe she is still going. And boy did she keep going. Her finger death grip on Melissa started to loosen a little and ever once in a while she would started to get a little uncoordinated. Melissa instituted a small rest time in the kitchen where she would encourage Kylie to rest her arms down and relax for a second, but that didn't last long. In the end it was Auntie Melissa that cried mercy first. She was tired of walking the lap, hungry, thirsty, her back was starting to hurt and little Miss May, although slightly winded, was still trucking along. We were very proud of our little marathon walker, we might have to start considering sports like cross country or speed walking. We were, however, slightly disappointed when we realized that our question is still without an answer, we do now know how long Melissa can walk for and I guess we will have to be happy with that.
This evening Craig, Kylie and I went to Victoria Gardens to do a little Christmas shopping and have a dinner date. Kylie really enjoyed the lights, music and all the people out and about. Kylie was the only one who ended up with any gifts during this shopping trip, we are just hoping she forgets what they are before Christmas :o) We had a wonderful dinner at Yard House, we think it might be the first dinner out we have had just the three of us. It was really wonderful to have some good quality family time. We are about to enter a crazy coupe weeks, my parents are out of town so we are hoping to make it through without our support team.
More to come soon,
Natalie
