Kylie enjoyed a wonderful day with her Aunties, Ammy and Papa David, it started with a walk to the grocery store and ended with a post-nap ice cream trip and play time in the new Kiddie Pool Ammy brought. Ammy also brought Kylie a whole bunch of new dresses and flip flops, she must of changed shoes at least 8 times today. Kylie was still very interested in her new brother, she held him multiple times, checked in with him every time I was holding him and gave him countless kisses on the head. At one point she was sitting holding him on the couch and she spontaneouly started singing "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living, my brother you'll be." Melt my heart!
Baby boy had a wonderful day too! Karen came back around noon to assess us both. My recovery is going really well, I feel so much better then I did with Kylie, I can hardly believe it, besides the after-birth cramping, I actually feel better then I did when I was pregnant, yay. He is doing great too, we have had multiple wet and dirty diapers, he is nursing like crazy and just about as perfect as he can be :o) We still have not decided on a name, but we have time.
We enjoyed visits from my grandparents (Oma and Bubba) and Kerry, Kyle, Olivia and Diane (Kerry's mom) this afternoon. Our little boy also got to meet a few more of our neighbors. Yesterday our new baby got to meet our wonderful neighbors Matt, Undi and one of their daughters Mish. He also got to meet Darin, Tabitha, Portia and his soon to be best friend Nico :o) We live in such a wonderful neighborhood with wonderful neighbors, we were so happy to have them all come visit while we sat on the front porch yesterday.
Some beautiful photos made their way to Facebook today, thank you Ivette for capturing such an amazing experience. Here are a few more from today...
Life doesn't get better then this, such a wonderful way to start the day.
Such a cutie, wish we could decide on a name :o)
Proud big sister, this is right before she started singing to him (thank you to Karen for showing us a special swaddle that makes it easier for toddlers to hold their new baby, it worked really well, he loved it too and ended up taking a 3 hour nap)
This mornings walk to the store with Papa.
OOOOO so excited about her baby.
I still hope to get a birth story written soon, but turns out life is kinda crazy with a newborn and a 2 year old, maybe tomorrow. The Johnson group left tonight, Kylie was sad to see them go. Diana will be back next Monday to stay for about 10 days while my parents are gone, we are so thankful she is willing to come. Graham and Jess (my brother and his girlfriend) are hoping to come out this next weekend and we hope to see Tim and Taylor (Craig's brother and sister-in-law) some time soon. Auntie Jill and uncle Mike have been following the blog and will get to meet this little one the beginning of July, we can't wait to see them! And Uncle Kyle will be back from Mongolia in a couple weeks, so we hope to see him when he gets back. This little boy is loved by so many wonderful people, he is one lucky kid :o)
More to come tomorrow,
Natalie
