41 weeks today! Craig woke me up at 5am asking if I thought i would have the baby today. "Probably not" I told him, so he called in and went to work. He has been trying to get in extra days this week just in case he has to take some off at the end of the week. But at this point I am still feeling good and think this baby may stay put a little longer, now he has to work the next three days because it is what he was originally scheduled, poor guy! I think I figured out what the baby is waiting for...Kylie was born late (12 days) and her birthday is 3/9/12, easy to remember, 3+9=12. Obviously this baby wants to make it easy on us too and is going to wait for 6/8/14. So now I am mentally preparing for the 8th ;o) we will see. I am also waiting to hear that my cousin, Emily who is due on 6/10/14, has already had her baby. Liam (her first born) came promptly on his due date, so who knows, this one could come a little early and beat my little bunny out of the gate. Kylie and Liam where within 1oz and .5inches of each other when they were born, I am curious to see if these second babies are close in size too.
Today I took Kylie to the Inland center mall to play at the play place. Besides a grandma that would not stop yelling at her grandson, it was a fun morning and Kylie enjoyed running around and playing. We ate a little snack and I even took a few minutes to try on some nursing tops and pjs. I forget how much I love shopping, it is one of the things that I have been really good about since Kylie was born and we took our financial peace classes. But at 41 weeks pregnant I decided I would pamper myself and buy a couple nursing items :o) We came home and Kylie took a really long nap (over 3 hours) and I sat on the couch, ate and watched ridiculous TV, not exactly productive, but very relaxing. This afternoon we took a walk to visit my parents and on the walk home I decided that ordering pizza take-out was the best option for dinner tonight. When Craig got home we had a picnic in the front yard, Kylie sweetly stated "we eat outside to enjoy the weather tonight." Yep little one, you are right! it was perfect weather outside and a picnic (Kylie's idea) was a very good one.
Today Kylie has been extra sweet to my tummy, giving lots of kisses and putting her hands on it and saying "oh, I feel the baby moving, here is the head and legs and belly button and elbow..." While she was nursing earlier my tummy growled, she stopped nursing and I said "oh my tummy is talking." She responded "ya the baby is saying 'hi big sister,' hi baby." She is soooooo sweet, I just hope she is this sweet when the baby is actually here :o)
I had very mild contractions on and off all day, I hope all this minimal activity is slowing moving us in the right direction and when it is time, my body will just go for it. The baby was active today and back to being in a good position, good job baby! Every time I call or text (especially anyone in my family) I know they are thinking it's the "I'm in labor" call, sorry to continue to disappoint everyone, but it will be, one of these days, maybe on the 8th ;o)
More to come soon,
Natalie
Thank you Tabitha for this beautiful shirt, I get complements on it every time I wear it! So glad it is a nursing shirt too!
Snack time at the mall.
Kylie had fancy hair for a little while today, this is right before she decided to take it out so she could have "long hair." She is also in the habit of telling me that when she has her hair up (in a pony tail, buns, braids, etc.) that she needs to take it out so she can "nannies" (nurse) better. Silly girl.
