Life in the Tribe

Today we lived life the way it was meant to be.  Tribe style.  Al, Ammy, and LaLa brought their grass huts, dart guns, and baby watching skills to our neck of the woods and we are blessed.  It is so nice to have an extra six hands, eyes, and feet to keep things in order. They have been so helpful playing with Kylie, holding Cooper, fixing meals, and keeping the house in order.

Cooper had a riveting day of hot coop-tato, as he was passed amongst us all.  Did he mind?  I guess if sleeping through it all is minding then, yeah, he minded a whole bunch.  He had another big day of sleeping and eating, sleeping, and eating...but I will say that in the midst of all that snoozin and boozin he is starting to have some really great awake times.  One in particular ,this evening, involved a fussy little boy that drank more milk than a nursing blue whale. No wonder he was uncomfortable right?  After holding, rocking, bouncing, and swaying he still couldn't find a happy grove so I had to channel our inner guy connection.  BING! light bulb on.  What do you do to make a little boy happy? Let him lay on the changing table naked while he burps and poops.  That's what we did, and if he wasn't 11 days old I would have told you he smiled.  He just cooed, looked around, and played.  Don't worry Cooper, I'll get better at remembering  that I have another guy in the house with me now.

Other big event for the day was Cooper's first trip to story time.  Besides singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" off key, he handled story time like any great newborn...slept through it all.

Kylie continues to think the world of her little brother, often asking if she can look at him, kiss him, and hold him.  We love that she loves him so much.

more to come soon,

Craig
