Another day has come and gone :o) With Kylie I did not let myself even think about having a baby before 41 and 1 because I knew that was the typical gestation for a first baby. But for a second I was not so sure. But here we are and today I actually felt pretty good.
This morning we took a group walk to Olive Market, Tabitha, Portia, Nico, Big Kylie (Mish's nanny), Mish, Kylie and I. We even mot my mom and sister there! It was a big girls party, poor Nico holding down the fort as the only boy, but he might have some support soon :o) Mish and Kylie had a cute moment while we were there, Mish started singing and Kylie joined in, they both giggled, then Kylie went to hug Mish and they embraced and held it for a good couple seconds then both giggled again. They went back and forth holding hands, hugging, singing and giggling for a good couple minutes while the rest of us just watched them and smiled. It was like they were good friends that had not seen each other in a long time, it was so sweet.
We all walked to story time. This was the first week that Kylie really seemed to get in to the whole experience. She wrote her "name" on the name tag, sat down in front and eagerly got her little start to hold. She sang all the songs at the top of her lungs and listened very closely to each story. When the teacher asked all the kids what their favorite color was (during the reading of one of the books), she actauly got up walked up to the book, pointed at a pink flower and said "pink." For Kylie this was a very bold move, she usually never goes up in front of the group or answers the questions out loud. During the Rainbow song, Kylie was very eager to show what colors she had chosen and was so enthusiastic about swinging her scarfs that she almost hit Portia and another little girl we were standing next to. When it was all over she eagerly gathered her coloring picture and waited in line for a stamp on her hand, then a stamp on her other hand, then a stamp on her paper. She loves the stamps and was very clear that she thought she needed 3.
We headed home for lunch and a nap, then I headed out for a trip to Costco. I have not shopped at Costco in some time, but Tabitha has inspired me to start shopping there with some of the great deals and delicious food she always comes home with. My mom stayed at my house while Kylie slept and my dad and I made the adventure. I ended up with more then I went for ( I think that problbly happens for just about everyone who gos to Costco), but I was very happy with my purchases. Especially a sweat shirt for me and swim hat and outfit for Kylie for our up coming family trip to the beach. It recently occured to me that we will be going to our yearly Johnson Beach Week trip in about 5 weeks and I was originally thinking the baby would be at least 6 weeks old and I would be at the end of my recovery. Since that is not the case I have starting thinking about trying to prep for that trip now while I still feel good. I think it will be wonderful to have all the help from everyone at the beach, but I also think it might be hard to get us packed for an entire week if I am not feeling 100% and the baby is closer to 1 month old. Anyway I hope everything goes well and by 1 month postpartum me and the baby feel like making a 4.5 hour drive and staying in a huge beach house with 20 other people :o)
Craig was not so sure he liked it, but when he got home and she insisted on trying it on for him, and he saw how happy she was in it, it won him over :o)
Kylie and I made another Market Night trip tonight. She and I shared a snow cone, she got her arm painted and she rode the pony Tommy. We also got some delicious fruit and vegetables.
Her beautiful rainbow on her arm, which we decided was better then the face because she could actually look and it and enjoy it more :o)
Selfie while we waited for the pony ride.
Yes she licked her own outfit. Purple shirt, tan shorts, long pink socks and her blue dress up shoes. She had her owl hat on when we left the house but decided it as to hot to wear it downtown. This is the second outfit of the day. This morning she insisted on wearing her pretty white dress, flip flops, and her hair needed 5 pony tails, one long braid in the back and one bow. She sat so still while I worked on her hair and she even left it in until she was ready for a nap, wish I had a photo of it, it turned out really cute.
I made us a yummy dinner when I got home and it was hot when Craig walked in the door, yay! At some point during dinner I had a mild contraction and I have had some more over the past few hours. Some of them are strongest I have had, but still nothing that I have to breath through and nothing consistent. I nursed Kylie to sleep and Craig went to bed. I have had a couple more contractions while I have been trying, but the plan is the same tonight, try to go to sleep, and if they wake me up then we might be going somewhere. The baby is still moving well and I listened to its heartbeat with my stethoscope this morning, it sounded good. Kylie was very affectionate toward my belly again today. The evening she even sang "I love you forever, I like you for always, as long as I'm living, my new baby you'll be." She is obsessed with that book right now, we read it at least 2-3 times a day and she loves the part where the man holds him mommy and sings to her. But tonight after dinner she started spontaneously singing the song (as she often does) and she inserts all different words in for "baby", sometimes its "as long as I'm living, my pizza you'll be" or "my chap stick" or "my nannies" etc.. but it made Craig and I smile when she was so purposeful about singing to my tummy and "new baby" was who she was singing too.
I will write more if I end up awake tonight, none of you will be up in the middle of the night to know I am writing :o) (except maybe Tabitha) but if it is anything real we will be sure to contact the family members and wake them up :o)
Good night for now,
Natalie
