Wednesday at the beach.

Well most of the group went out to a movie tonight so that leaves just a few of us home and able to write the blog. I realized this a little too late and everyone else has already gone to bed. So here are some photos from today :o)

When we were all out to eat at Firestone this evening, Kylie decided to have her own, personal, little dance party. She convinced Doe, Andrew and Daddy to join her. She also inspired a couple walking by to join in for a moment.
Just the thought of spending the day at the beach was enough to wear the boys out. They needed a pre-beach nap.

Cooper with Uncle Kyle and Auntie Lala
 Kisses from Ammy.

Doe and Ky laughing at Lala and Jilly.
Sitting in her little chair in her "home."

Jilly and Lala having a mud bath and waiting for the waves to come get them. They were able to convince Kylie to join them and enjoy a mud bath until the water came. I have never seen her jump in to Doe's arms so quick and as soon as Doe put her down she ran back to the safety of her little home. But she said she enjoyed the mud bath part.

Kylie asked to go to the candy store today. She got Rainbow ice cream, it was very yummy.
Another activity at Firestone, climbing the trees.
She did well with a little help from daddy.
Kylie has been having a hard time with baths lately, she screams when we wash her hair. We have tried everything we can think of to make it better, this week alone we have had me take a bath with her, Cooper take a bath with her, a very quick shower and last night we tried putting ear plugs in her ears so no water could get in. Nothing is working. Tonight she ended up taking a very late nap and we actually had to wake her so she could take a bath, get ready for a family photo and go out to dinner. We decided that it was not worth the battle to wash her hair tonight since we would be waking her and we knew she would not be in a great mood. So we thought it would be a better bath with no hair washing, wrong, she screamed the whole time anyway. She even said "don't wash hair" a handful of times after I told her over and over that we would not wash hair tonight. I think she was just very tired, I know I don't like to be woken up from a nap, so I'm sure she was just still sleepy.

Kylie has been telling lots and lots of stories during this trip. Many of them revolve around her "granddaughter" and her husband "Don." Kylie is so observant, she listens to all the stories we tell each other and incooperates it in to her stories. She will pick up her little play phone and have full conversations with imaginary people on the other end. She has the pauses and intonation of conversation perfect, sometimes I think she is actually talking to someone :o)

Cooper has been enjoying beach, the past few days he has been a little fussy and grunts a lot. I feel like his belly is just way too full and her is uncomfortable, but I am not sure, I don't remember this with Kylie so I am not always sure what to do.

Well it is late, I am amazed I was able to write without a single interruption (besides nodding off at the computer while I type), wow.

More to come tomorrow, hopefully from a family member :o)

P.S. We also took a family photo, I will try to post it soon :o) It was fun to document our whole big family all together at the beach.

  1. You've probably tried just about everything... But what about food coloring in the water, different colors and shapes of pasta, children's colored shaving cream, baby doll that needs a bath? Um, I'm asking my creative OT friends.....
