Cooper wraps up his first "Beach Week"

"Saddest day" (Kylie's words) of the year is upon us.  That's right. The annual "leave Beach Week day" looms larger than tax day around here.  To counteract it we needed a little extra joy, so, Nat and I had two children.  And. You know what?  it actually helped...slightly.

Milestone moment today.  Cooper amazed all by actually taking his pacifier tonight, but that's not all.  He did it with...ready for it.....drum roll... No hands!  He just sat there sucking away (about twenty minutes total), and to our surprise, it pacified him. hmmm... I wonder how they came up with the name  "pacifier"?...I just don't get it.  We still are a little bit of the "reserved to use a pacifier" parents, but this was one step toward getting more comfortable with it.

Cooper has had no shortage of shoulders and arms at his disposal this week, and Nat and I are a little sad to lose all the extra cuddlers.  It has been fun to see all the future (some very distant...some closer) parents getting their practice in with our little mini coop.  Luckily, he is a sporting lad and enjoys the hot potato routine.

Kylie continues to thrive during Beach Week (she got to eat licorice and fruit snacks for the first time today).  She loves the atmosphere and attention.  She also continues to be an extremely loving big sister who often checks in to see how her "Coopie" is doing.  Usually it is after he or she has slept and she comes up to him and says "how's Coopie?", "Can Coopie hold me", "I want to give Coopie a hug" or "I want to see my brother". Those are the phrases these days, and Coops usual response....? "Ugh". What can we say? He is a man of few words.

Off to a couple hours of sleep before the packing bonanza starts.

More to come soon,

Craig

P.S. Cooper continues to LOVE bath time.  He kicks and coos the entire time...even during the hair. I hope it lasts.
