The trip to see Niels and Marissa + family, was a blast. We ate, we played, Nat took maternity/family photos for the Trevoorts (that's their last name), Kylie got to watch (mesmerized) as the big girls ran wild all over the place, and we all got to spend some time playing at the beach down in the sand. Kylie spends so much time ruling the roost around here that it is entertaining to see her interact with older kids. She really seems to be a sponge that soaks up every minute of what the older kids do. I even think sometimes she gets overwhelmed by all their energy, noise level, and activity. It is just like the ole car crash saying, you can't really handle what you are seeing but you can't bring yourself to turn away.
Our "Happy Parent" moment of the day was definitely watching/listening to Kylie fall fast asleep, not once, but twice, on her own in the car. I think we both pinched ourselves, rubbed our eyes, and splashed cold water in our face, to make sure that what we were seeing was actually real. When finally grasped the fact that she was in fact asleep and she did it on her own, we just sat back, sighed, and thought "wow! who knew parenting could be this easy."
No big cruise celebrations for the little ones 7-month birthday, but she said she had a very merry unbirthday anyway.
more to come soon,
Craig
It's amazing the reaction you get when you promise a 7-month old some Fro-Yo. |
When her ice cream never came she settled for gnawing on a thumb and index finger. |
The excitement of standing is almost too much to contain |
Had we let her go she may still be running around somewhere in Encinitas (or was it Ensenada? hmm...) |
