Kylie May and Fall is Here Day 217

Maybe Fall has been here since the end of September, but it sure hasn't felt like it. Not until today that is.  The rain came down (in a drizzle), the temperature dropped, and Kylie realized that she doesn't get to go swimming year round.  She has to settle for only being able to lay around in the sunshine for 8-months a year.  Kylie seemed to understand the gravity of the situation when she told me, "Dad.  It's a cruel cruel world we live in."  I hear you baby girl.

Did the cooler weather stop outside walk time? No chance. Why? Because the "cooler" weather was still low 70's until the sun went down.  We walked to downtown, played with Chloe (Kerry and Kyle's dog), watched Nat teach dancing, said hi to Uncle Tim and Aunt Cathy (haven't seen them since the cruise), ate avocado/banana/squash/sweet potato/rice (not all in one sitting that would be a record), Skyped with Melissa's boyfriend and baby John (they both laughed, cried, smiled, and frowned), and then went down for bed in her full length PJ's (because it's cold).  Then she ended up in a onsie with a blanket because she has out grown all her closed toe PJ's :-(. Those cute little legs just keep getting longer.

Now, its bedtime for the parents.

more to come soon,

Craig

"Mom. Dad. Do you want to see me climb over the arm of the chair? I can do it."

This was not the time to inform her that 30 years from now she will not be displaying her age quite so proudly

The sad eyes of a child blocked from the delicious taste of avocado by the silly ole skin.

The tongue sticking out.  her newest trick.

I think someone promised they would cut the avocado open for her.

"Dad? can I play with the stove and run with scissors?" "When you look at me like that. Sure honey, anything you ask for."

  1. The picture with her tongue sticking out reminds me of Grandma Phoebe! That was her concentrating look!
