Then Kylie and I headed to story time at the library. On average there are usually about 10 kids that come to story time, but today there were 36 kids there (yes, I counted them)!!!!! It was a mad house and Kylie was loving it. At the end of story time, the kids are given a coloring sheet and a hand stamp. This hand stamp seems to be the sole reason some of the kids come to story time, they get so excited about it. Being that Kylie is still a baby, she has never participated in receiving the coloring sheet or hand stamp, until today. Today she got a tiny, red octupus stamped on her right hand, she looked very confused and touched it a few times, then completely forgot about if for the rest of the day :o) We also ran in to Tania (the woman that took our birth photos) and her son, Lucas. We enjoyed play at the library park with them for a little bit after story time.
Play time with Mimi, Papa, and Auntie Melissa, some good food, a nap and a walk, that was the rest of the afternoon. Determined to have dinner ready for Craig tonight, before he headed to work, I started fixing chili at 3:30 in the afternoon. Chili and cornbread, yummm. Craig headed out for another long night at work and Kylie headed to the bathtub. She was pretty funny in the bath tonight. We have little foam letters that, when wet, stick to the side of the bath tub. We usually spell out Kylie's name for her, she knocks them all down. we put them back up, so on and so fourth. Tonight, however, she grabbed the letter "K" dipped it in the bath water and gently placed it on the side of the tub. Then she took her hand away slowly, with her fingers spread apart, as if she had just performed an amazing magic trick. Then she gave us (Melissa and I) a cheesy, fake smile that made both of us bust up laughing. We cheered for her and watched her take the letter off and put it back on multiple times. She was very diligent about making sure she was holding the letter in a way that made it easy to stick to the wall, and every time she would take her hand away nice and slow as if she was saying "ta-ta," I wish I had it on video.
We headed to bed and I fell asleep with her, just got up to write this and I am headed back to bed, the house is a mess, but it will have to wait until tomorrow.
More to come soon,
Natalie
