Kylie May's Sleepless in Cayucos Day 131

Sleepless in Cayucos, starring the wildly famous Kylie May Johnson: a classic tale of girl meets beach, falls in love, and can't waste a single moment sleeping. Today the whole family (all 15 of us) woke up early and hit the beach for a family photo shoot with Natalie's new camera. Although we tried to prepare her, the life of a Top Model seemed too overwhelming for Miss May, but not before we could get some good pictures out of her. Two hours and hundreds of pictures later, we finally headed home for a quick breakfast before a long day at the beach. Because of the hard work she had to put in this morning, Kylie was extra tired on the beach today. It also didn't help that her teeth seem to be close to breaking point. But just like her parents, Kylie couldn't stand to miss any of the excitement, so she settled for a five minute nap. If you know babies, you know one five minute nap in the span of several hours is about as common as a pig in an overstuffed car of circus clowns headed to the Amazon. Everyone was worried she wouldn't be able to cope, but she held those tired eyes open and kept us entertained all day long.

This evening we were off to Firestone Grill in San Luis Obispo. We worried about the little beach bum making the half an hour trip on such little sleep, but she handled the car ride like a seasoned pro. Dinner was delicious, and she even managed to catch a few minutes of shut-eye. She woke up just in time for the car ride home, and awoke a new woman. She played a game with her Mommy and Auntie Quin, finding that when she stuck Mommy's finger in her mouth and pulled it out quickly it made a funny sucking sound. Every time she did it, Quin, Kylie, and Mommy found themselves in a mess of giggles, and all three were entertained the whole car ride home. Once back at the beach house Kylie got a chance to play and smile before seeing a few minutes of the classic movie What About Bob? before she and Mommy both conked out on the couch. Now they are sleeping soundly and comfortably, getting ready for another fun day at the beach tomorrow. Our little munchkin is going to need all of her strength if she's going to keep up the "no naps allowed" policy.

Auntie Lane and Josh have to head back home tomorrow, and are very sad they have to miss out on the last few days of Kylie's first beach week. It was fun to spend time with her, and we both look forward to the next time we get to spend time with her. She is such a blessing in all of our lives, and we cherish every second we have with her.

Over and out from these tired Aunties; we have to catch some Z's ourselves if we want to keep up with Kylie.
