Kylie May and Her Graduation Day 76

Craig started writing and I just found him fast asleep holding his phone. It was a long day, we made it to Quin's graduation and we are staying with Craig's family tonight. He will write more tomorrow, right now its bed time.

late entry due to narcoleptic episode:

I just had an epiphany...of sorts. Not even 6 months into my new career and I've come to the conclusion that I need to go back to school.  Oh...don't get me wrong, it has nothing to do with mursing, and it might actually even assist me in being a better murse.  The prospect of papers, tests, and all-nighters (school related) does not entice me, but the necessity out ways the negatives. Today during our long road trip to Porterville I realized that I could no longer survive fatherhood with out an advanced degree in the foreign language of "Baby Talk".  Kylie was not a happy camper during this afternoon's asphalt assault, and I can only assume it was a break down in communication that contributed to the difficulty.  See, I was clearly explaining to our little backseat driver that I would take her out of her car seat the nano second we got to Porterville.  She clearly didn't understand me, because for the entire drive (even after multiple baby stretch breaks) she was yelling at us.  If we just had a better way to talk with each other I'm certain we could have come to a more mutually agreeable agreement for the trip.  It was not until we arrived our final destination that Grandpa David nonchalantly explained to me that she was only upset on the drive because we didn't let her drive. Oh...now I get it...I knew we should have worked harder on appealing her restricted license.  As someone, somewhere, sometime, once said..."all's well that ends well"

"Celebrate good times...Come on!"  That is was the drive was all about.  Celebrating auntie Quin's high school graduation. Even after a long trip, Kylie was in high spirits for the big event.  Something about momentous occasions brings out the best in her.  It would have been perfect, had she not blown through her graduation outfit on the drive over. Bing! (light bulb going off) I am starting to understand why her wardrobe is five times the size of mine.  Kylie loved getting to hear her Valedictorian auntie give a great speech, and even had fun blasting her blow horn when she got her diploma.  We are all proud of you miss Quin.  Congratulations and Good job!

After graduation, grandma Didi being the caring grandma/mom that she is, offered to drive our car home with Kylie and Nat so that I would not stress out over having to put Kylie back in the car seat (I was pretty stressed after the long trek).  I said, "sure", so grandma Didi, and the girls, headed out for grandma's first attempt as the driver of our new car.  A five minute drive along the country roads of Porterville, no problem, right?  WRONG!  The late departure (grandpa, me, Quin, Lane, and Alisa) is cruising home, on what I am sure, is one of the most deserted roads in the country, and up ahead we see flashing CHP lights.  If you don't already see where this is going I'll spell it out.  Grandma Didi somehow got pulled over on her maiden voyage.  I guess it was a slow night in CHP land because the officer said he pulled her over for not turning down her brights fast enough.  Luckily a little "look at the baby" and some charm warded off any potential tickets. Who says babies are only good for the tax breaks? Kylie said her heart was pounding when she saw the "red and blues" but it was a fun first experience. She is such and adrenaline junky.

Well another day is already upon us so this is where I end, and Kylie's next big adventure begins

more to come soon,

-Craig-

p.s. Kylie's other big "first" of the day was her first time getting to get in the shower with Nat.  From what Nat told me, it sounds like Kylie really enjoyed it.

Even the horror films start out with a peaceful beginning. :-)

A little play time in the grass is all it takes to put this little one in a good mood.

The lights, the crowd, the music, just right where this little one loves to be

Getting a photo with the Valedictorian made Kylie so star struck she couldn't bear to look at the camera.
