Kylie May and her advocacy day 179

Hello all!

Tonight's guest blogging will be brought to you by the one and only Johnson live-in nanny aka auntie Melissa. :) There is painting happening upstairs as we speak so I can't chat for too long but I will try to give you an overview of the highlights. This morning Natalie, Kylie, Grandma Carol, and Great grandma Gloria and I put on our "National Rally for Change, campaign for supporting evidence-based birthing practices in hospitals" caps, and headed out to the corner adjacent Loma Linda Medical Center to rally with hundreds nation wide on this very fitting "Labor Day". We all had a great time showing our support and trying to quickly educate the cars driving by on our increasing c-section and induction rates. Overall I'd say it was a great success, "When I say V, you say BAC! V-BAC V-BAC!!"

Following the rally Natalie, Kylie and I met up with Gina and Jax for some panera bread. It was fun to see the two babes look like they recognized each other. Jax is already putting on the moves for Kylie who willingly accepts. ;) After lunch Kylie took a nice long nap with me while her momma went to pick out paint colors for the upstairs bathroom.

*quick side note, in the middle of writing this, craig brought Kylie into my room with me because she was up and he needed a quick break. Because late night mom-less Kylie is normally constantly on the verge of meltdown, I was surprised to see her lie down next to me, half naked, head propped on a pillow, with a bottle of milk in her hands sucking away, happy as a clam. She looked so....so....OLD. It was pretty funny we couldn't help but laugh. It was like she knew when mom was out, there is no telling what kind of night were going to have, and this part of the night was the "chill out with Auntie and gossip about boys" part of the evening. Finally I feel like the "cool Aunt"!*

Anyways,  I hope Natalie will tell you more about her experiences at the rally today, I know it was a special moment for her to see so many women behind her shared beliefs and passion for the birthing experience. Paint is drying so I gotta go! Pictures to come!!
