This morning the kids were so sweet, they played together and sat together reading books, it is moments like this that make my heart happy. After a somewhat relaxing morning we decided to walk downtown to Frugal Friget to the story time. We had never been before and we really enjoyed it (besides the very warm walk, it was already 91 degrees at 10:30am, hopefully fall will happen sometime soon). The woman reading the stories was very animated, Kylie sat so still and very focused through all 6 books. Cooper did well also, he was very interested for about the first half then enjoyed practicing going up and down the stairs we were sitting on. They both really liked playing in the book store after the stories and we found a couple books we hope to someday add to our collection. I am so glad I have two children that love to read so much. Next stop, the bank. We ended up running in to my friend Connie and her baby Ethan, so we walked State Street with them. Cooper fell asleep in the stroller and Kylie and I decided it was time for lunch. We headed to the coffee shop on the corner that now also serves pizza. We ordered Kylie an iced chocolate milk (which she refered to as her decaf coffee) a delicious salad and pizza to share. It was a wonderful little girls date. Once we got home Kylie had some relaxing time watching Sesame Street, Cooper woke up and enjoyed playing in the living room. After some more play time and a snack it was time for a nap, we all climbed in our big bed and both kids started nursing. Kylie was asleep within about 5 minutes but it took Cooper a little longer. I got some work done on the computer while they napped then it was time to go to Prospect Park to take photos for Raquel and her family. Kylie packed a backpack with some toys and her ring sling and Carly. Cooper brought a bag with Little People and trucks. Both kids completely entertained themselves with their toys and snacks while I took photos. Kylie is such a wonderful big sister, she kept an eye on Cooper and was so sweet helping him with his snack and toys. We headed home for a couple minutes until it was time for me to drop the kids off with Daren and Tabitha and head to teach at the BI. They had a great time with Portia and Nico and Craig picked them up when he got home from work. It was a wonderful day. We are looking forward to having some family time tomorrow.
A couple days ago we got a visit from baby Max, Kylie just loves him.
Play date time on Friday, we read lots of books!
Every once in a while the house is very quite, my first thought is often "what are they getting into?" but when I look for and find both kids, this is often what I see, just sitting quietly reading a book, doing a puzzle or playing with Little People or Legos. They are two amazingly wonderful kids, we are blessed!
Reading together this morning while I was getting dressed and ready for the day.
We have had A LOT of these beautiful monarch butterfly's around lately, I hope they stay.
Enjoying their first story time at The Frugal Friget.
Ky with her "decaf coffee"
This is her go-to silly face, she often poses for a sweet photo, then says "ok, now a silly one."
Cooper has started spending more time sitting in the cupboards, today he insisted on eating his lunch there.
Cuddle time with daddy.
Reading with mommy in the early morning.
Daddy took Cooper on a boys shopping trip yesterday. Cooper loves pushing the little carts at Gerard's.
