After 3 days of asking, Kylie finally got her first hair cut. She has been asking to have it short with bangs, like Portia's. So this afternoon her and I headed to Target, we did some shopping that included buying some hair cutting scissors. She was so excited when we got home that we started cutting before daddy even got home. She did such a great job sitting still, she was so excited to have her hair cut. When we were finished she walked to her room to look at it in the mirror, she was so happy. She immediately transformed into her "little mommy" personality saying "like, totally" all the time, so cute.
Now that her hair is cut it has lost its curl, it also looks a little darker. It is kinda sad to see the baby curls go, but it was just time. She looks so big now.
Photos of the hair cut will be added tomorrow...
I can't believe Cooper is already 16 months old!! In the past week his language has exploded. He is talking all the time and we can actually understand a good amount. This week he has been working on perfecting his "no." He has added in the head shake and it's so cute. I asked him a series of questions while he was nursing today, he just kept shaking his head "no," it made me laugh. Cooper loves to eat, he has a full mouth of 16 teeth and he knows how to use them. He loves using his fork and spoon and works very hard to get food to his mouth. He also gives the best hugs. He loves hugging other kids his same size, he loves to hug his sister, our legs and sometimes he will sneak up behind you and hug your neck. Today he took a little tumble at breastfeeding group and he came up and gave me the strongest hug. He was held on SO tight, it was wonderful. Cooper loves trucks and points them out anywhere we are, he is also a big fan of different emergency vehicles. He has a very strong opinion and will and now that he is learning the power of "no" he has become crystal clear about what he wants and when he wants it. I love this age, it is so fun, our Coopie is so sweet, gives kisses all the time, as fun as it is to watch him grow up, I wish he would slow down!
Kylie used to have a hard time when I would leave for work, now we have a little routine that seems to help a lot. When it is time for my (or Craig) to leave, Kylie goes out to the front porch and stands on her "perch" the column in the middle of the porch. She waves and says "i love you" while doing the sign language sign for i love you. More recently Craig taught her how to do the "peace" sign. Now after she yells "I love you" she looks down and switches her fingers to the peace sign and yells "PEACE" in a low blunt voice. It is so cute. Cooper stands on the "perch"next to her and just waves franticly, sometimes you can see him trying to do the "i love you" sign, but after trying for a second he just goes back to waking and saying "bye" in the sweetest voice you can imagine. Although it is ALWAYS hard to leave the kids for work, it does make it a little easier when we have a routine.
Photos tomorrow,
Good night,
Natalie
