Well it's official, we have a walker!

Yep, that's right, Kylie May is officially on the move. We meant to post yesterday, but after spending all evening rearranging furniture we were both to tired, so here is the update. Kylie has been walking little bits from one person to another person for a little while now. She started practicing her walking only late in the evening and it has progressively happened earlier and earlier. On Monday evening we were at Mimi and Papas and she started walking between us around 5pm, she even made it from the living room, through the dinning room and around the kitchen, wow. She has also been practicing getting on to her feet from a sitting position and bending down to pick something up then continuing to walk. Yesterday afternoon she started putting it all together, it was like she finally realized that this was her new form of transportation and she could do it all by herself. It started with her standing up next to her book shelf, turning and walking across the room to my mom. She would check in and turn back around and go back to her toys. After doing this a few times she started walking to the rest of us who were sitting around the living room. She would bring us different items she picked up along the way, her balance was actually better when she was distracted by something in her hand. It was so fun to watch her walk around like such a bug girl!

We got so see Kylie show off her skills one more time a little later in the evening. We headed to Bed, Bath and Beyond. Kylie wanted to get down and walk through the store, she was holding Craig's hand (like she has been for the past month) until she found a shelf with plastic cups. Plastic martini glasses, to be exact, she grabbed one off the shelf. Just a few moments later she let go of Craig's hand and headed off down the long isle of the store, martini glass in hand. We stopped and watched her, curious how far she would get before she turned around to look for us. Let's just say that she probably could have made it all the way out the door and down the street before she looked to see if we were still behind her. She never once turned around, but she did stop and squat when she was cut off by a sweet woman and her shopping cart. She looked at Kylie with a look of worry until she saw us watching her from down the way. Kylie continued to walk around with her martini glass while we shopped until she wore herself out. Such a silly little girl.

We got home from our shopping adventure, ate some dinner (Kylie had grilled chicken and apple sauce), then Kylie had another fun new adventure. Markers! A friend of ours (I don't remember who) gave us a great suggestion, put Kylie in her high chair and give her washable, dry erase markers, let her draw all over her high chair tray for extra entertainment while you are trying to eat. The markers wipe off the tray easily and wash off baby even easier. So last night we tried it out. She had so much fun. We gave her a blue marker, she drew all over her tray then rubbed her hands on her tray making her fingers bright blue, she also tried to eat the marker a few times leaving a couple big blue lines on her face and mouth. At one point she even leaned down and licked the marker off the tray, thank goodness they are nontoxic. A nice big bath after that fun filled day.

Today she went to music class, Gymboree and then home for a nap and play time. We got a little visit from Cathy (of Tim and Cathy we went on our cruise with). Her and Tim are moving to Oregon, Tim is already there doing school and training for a new job and Cathy is here packing their house and trying to get it sold. We will miss then when they move, it was so great to spend a little time with her today. While Cathy was here Kylie showed off her new walking skills and we put sand in her sandbox. She was not so sure about it, but I think once we have all her sand toys out there she is going to love it! At least I love it, makes me feel like I am at the beach.

I am supposed to get my new camera lens in the mail tomorrow, I can hardly wait! In the mean time here are a few photos and videos from my phone. My mom and Craig have video of Kylie walking so I will try to get that on the blog tomorrow.

Thank you Grandma Diana for the cute bow!

Tonight we walked to the farmers market and she enjoyed eating fresh strawberries, yum!

It's not the clearest photo, but Kylie was not interested in going to sleep tonight, instead she wanted to sit half naked in the living room and read books to herself, silly girl.
Here is an example of how much she has been talking these days...

This was taken two nights ago, Melissa was playing with a ball in the living room while Kylie ate dinner. Kylie thought it was so funny until Melissa lost control and the ball hit a paper plate on the table, not so funny anymore. If you watch close you can see the plate fly past in the background.
