After documenting so diligently during her first year of life, I feel guilty when I don't write every night. I still find myself thinking, "ok, what were the highlights today, anything new of different I need to remember for the blog?" Then next thing you know it's been 5 days and I can't remember any of the interesting/new/fun things that have happened, ahhhh. So here is a recap of what I can remember...
Wednesday we had a play date with Alana and Janisha. We went to the Inland Center mall and played at the play area and Kylie got to ride her very first merry-go-round. She love it! I had to go back to work on Wednesday night, it was the first time in about 3 weeks and it was rough. Craig and Kylie stayed at my parents (Melissa was still in Arizona) so they could have some good team work while they faced the dreaded evening. Turns out they might have needed even a few more teammates, the night did not go well. At one point my parents told Craig to go to sleep and they decided to get up, feed Kylie and let her play because she was not interested in sleeping. This was around 3-5am, needless to say she took a couple very good naps with me on Thursday.
Thursday morning Craig and Kylie attempted to get out of the house and to music class, after running a little late and then not being able to find the building, music class didn't happen. But Gymboree did! Kylie really enjoyed her first few Gymboree classes but after missing the past two weeks she was not so sure about the while thing. Craig said she basically wanted to stand in the corner and watch the other kids have fun, she did however enjoy bubble time but went back to being a wallflower when it came time to participate in everything else.
Friday we had a fun play date with Misheel and Kylie (from next door) and Amanda and Rowan (friends from yoga class). We all took a walk to Olive Market and enjoyed a little picnic lunch. It was so fun, Rowan and Misheel are just a couple weeks different in age so they enjoyed playing together. We hope to make it a regular little outing, especially while the weather is so amazing.
Saturday we attended another Gymboree class and again Kylie was not very interested. She was glued to my side the entire class, but at least it was good to get out of the house and see a few other kids. She spent some time with Mimi and Papa in the afternoon while I took photos of my friends Jon, Raquel and baby Alexander. We had a bbq at my parents in the evening and Kylie enjoyed going down the little slide in the backyard. She also decided to practice her walking skills all around the house. She is able to take a lot of steps in a row but only when she is walking to someones outstretched hands. I think it will be just a matter of another week or two before she gets confident and is off on her own.
Today we got up early for church. Craig and I volunteered with the kids and Kylie participated in her first "Easter Egg Hunt." It was not much of a hunt, Kylie and the other little ones at church just enjoyed picking up the eggs off the grass, putting them in one big basket then waiting for me to put them back out on the grass. It was cute. Then we headed to Auntie Johanna and Uncle Kevin's house for a little Easter meal. It was so fun to see everyone. Liam is getting so big, he is crawling everywhere and currently weighs in at 23 lbs (3 lbs more then Kylie), such a cutie! Kylie enjoyed eating lots of yummy stuff for her Easter meal. She had cheesy potatoes, asparagus, ham, rolls, and topped it off with cottage cheese and apple sauce. It is fun to finally feel comfortable introducing different foods to her, she is so good about trying everything at least once, hopefully that will continue :o) Not long after we arrived home we got a visit from the Johnson group (David, Diana, Lane, Josh, Quin and Alisa). They had spent a few days in SD and were driving back home. It was so wonderful to see them and not nearly long enough. After a couple hours of playing and visiting, they all jumped back in the car and were gone just as quickly as they came. Grandma Diana brought Kylie a wonderful Easter basket full of treats and toys for the beach (and her sandbox in the meantime). Thank you for making the detour to spend a little time with us, it was so wonderful to see you all.

P.S. I am having difficulty uploading the photos, I will try to get them on tomorrow morning (maybe it would work better if I was not trying to upload so many photos :o) we will see)
