Johnson Beach Week

I honestly hoped to write everyday of beach week, I love looking back at the memories of previous beach weeks, but once again, here I am. Our last night at the beach and I am finally sitting down to write.

This week has been wonderful, as it always is. Amazing food, tons and tons of family time and the beautiful sun and sand. Kylie and Cooper have been in heaven. Kylie went on her first trip out in the kayak with Craig and I. She was excited about it until we were actually getting in the boat and we were trying to get out over the waves. We had a whole team of people making sure we were not going to tip and we were able to get out without Kylie even getting wet, but she was very upset and it took her about 10 minutes of hugging, kissing and calming before she was able to relax. Once she did, she loved being out in the ocean. She brought her own little paddle (a shovel) and she wanted to adventure all around. Ammy and Papa joined us in the other kayak. It took them about 3 attempts to make it out and once they were on their way back they tipped again. Ammy got laughing so hard, it made us all laugh. We ended up towing her back in and Andrew came out on a rescue mission with the buggy board. It was a fun trip, but again Kylie was in tears as we headed back to shore. The waves scared her and even though we made it in between waves with Craig and I carrying her the whole time (she never even touched the water), she was still very upset and it took a while to help her calm down. When we asked her what the best part of the day was, she said going out on the kayak, so I guess it was not too traumatizing.

Cooper has been having the time of his life out on the beach, every day there are new doggies to meet and play with. He has NO fear and gets SO SO excited when he spots a dog. Little dogs, big dogs, doesn't matter, he will squeal, point his cute little finger, stomp his cubby little feet and make a b-line for his new found fuzzy friend.

We have been practicing our sign language quite a bit, turns out Auntie Shena knows a lot. Cooper is getting good at showing us water, dog, fish, please, more, all done and diaper. Kylie and I learned some new signs and we are trying desperately to remember them so we can teach Cooper. Some of them include; colors, rainbow, people, to go, to come, home, world, fine, want, boy, girl and baby.

babies are waking...more to come later...
