17% battery....oh wait, 16%battery, a missing power cord, running off 4 hours of sleep, a baby who finally fell asleep after fighting it for longer than I'd like to admit, and a list of things that have to get done before she wakes up. Throw all that in a caldron, mush it around, and out comes a quick recap of Missy (not Misty...that name is already trademarked) May's day.
Today was a sleep in day...uh oh, she's stirring, so here I go. She woke and was ready to go swimming at aunt Jo's and Uncle Kevin's, but I was sleeping, so we waited for me to wake up. I woke up and was ready to go, but she fell asleep, so we waited. Finally both of us were up (Nat, the one who actually has to stay up working all night, never slept) so we made our way up the hill to have some fun in the pool. Kylie splashed, played, and did her usual Nemo impression. It was a good time. Dinner at Chipotle, which ended with all of Kylie's dinner entertainment devices (a spoon, a napkin, a piece of plastic wrapping, a cup, and a lid) lying on the floor. I guess Nat having to go to work had nothing to do with why we stuffed our faces so fast. It was all about the little one.
One last thing to say, Lately Kylie has been doing this funny/endearing/cute thing every time we pick her up and hold her on our left shoulder. With her right hand, as soon as you put her on your shoulder, she starts patting our back/arm. It is almost as if to say "thanks mom or dad, I appreciate you picking me up". We don't know how long it will last, but it's little things like that (even if it is only reflexive) that make us more attached to her every single day.
14%battery left....I guess that answers the eternal question. No, not how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop? (the owl already answered that one), but, how much battery does it take to type a Kylie May blog post? Maybe that will be the title of my next blog. Eternal questions and a quest to find their answers.
more to come soon,
Craig
