Life has been crazy, but with the new year I am feeling determined to get back to writing the blog at least a couple times a week. So much has happened over the past few months with all the holidays that I will not be able to catch it all up in one post. So instead tonight I am just going to give a little update :o)
Kylie is amazing! But we already knew that! She is talking SO much, Craig and I can hardly believe our ears. Yesterday morning she sat up in bed and she had a little fuzzy thing in her eye. I told her to look at me and that I was going to get something out of her eye. After getting it out she shouts "Dada, something in eye, right there (pointing to her eye)." Sentences like this just make Craig and I look at each other and smile, she is so fun.
I worked last night, when I left at 7am we still had not had our fist baby of the new year but there were a few women in the race. When I got home I got a text that Kylie had just recently fallen asleep and that I should just get some sleep and plan on seeing her later. Turns out she decided that sleeping was not part of the plan last night. She went to bed around 11pm and was up crying at 2:45, looking for mommy and having a hard time falling back to sleep. After an hour of trying, Craig decided that they might as well just get up, turn on some lights and play. By 6am Ama and Papa were ready to take over and Craig got some sleep. Kylie went right to sleep with Ama and slept for a few hours. She came to wake me up around 1:30 and instead, decided to climb in bed, nurse and the next thing you know it is almost 5pm and we are both just waking up, ahhh. So needless to say we were a little worried she would not want to sleep tonight, but after a HUGE dinner (I think she ate more then I did) and a fun big girl bath with mammy, she was ready for a story and bed time around 9:30, yeah.
Melissa is still living with us, which we love!! She got engaged this fall and yesterday we had an amazing adventure to find a wedding dress. All I will say is she is going to look amazing!
This evening, while we were making dinner in the real kitchen, Kylie and Melissa were busy making food in Kylie's kitchen to serve to some hungry guests, including Carly, DisBaby (Tido), Macy, Big Pink Bear and me. Kylie is loving her new play kitchen (thank you Ammy and Papa Johnson) and her new table and chairs. She totally gets it, she cooks things, puts them on plates, pretend to eat then sometimes puts the dishes in the sink. That is as far as it gets, I guess she sees the mess our kitchen is in and figures thats just how it goes :o) She is still very interested in books, her current favorites include, Go Dog Go, One Fish Two Fish, It's no Fun to be Sick, Mrs. Wow Never Wanted a Cow and her new Big Sisters and the Best book from Christmas. She has most of One Fish Two Fish memorized which is amazing to Craig and I, it is a really long book but she can fill in almost any word on any page while we are reading, it's so fun.
One more quick update, then it is time for bed. Today I am 19 weeks along with baby #2! We have decided to be surprised about the gender of this baby, just like we were with Kylie. We are seeing our midwife Karen and everything seems to be going perfect. We have our next appointment with Karen next week and an ultrasound this week. Kylie talks about the baby all the time and often touches my tummy and kisses the baby, it is so sweet. Kylie is still nursing and I am planning to just see how it all plays out, I am not interested in weaning her and I know many moms that were able to make the transition work, so we will see. I have had a couple times when I thought I felt the baby move, but I was not 100% until about 3 nights ago. We were just getting ready to fall asleep and the baby gave us two good kicks, even Craig could feel them! It's so exciting! I have been feeling so busy with Kylie that there are times when I forget I am even pregnant, I am looking forward to the constant reminder as I am able to feel this baby move even more. Kylie has not felt the baby move yet, but she will put her had on my tummy and say "baby moving, ya." I think she will really enjoy the movement when the baby gets bigger. Ok, enough for tonight, this is the first blog on my new computer!! So I will have to work on getting some photos uploaded. So glad to be back writing, and so eager to document this new pregnancy and baby!!!!
Hooray! Congrats to you both! When is actual "due date"? So glad you're back to blogging. You slowed down blogging about the time that I stopped having time to read them so I'll get back into it so I can stay caught up on y'all. Hugs from Barrett to Kylie!
