I realize it is one day late, but still worth posting. I can not believe our little monkey is already 14 months old!!!!! I know we have said it time and time again, but the reality doesn't change, this is all going by WAY to fast! Kylie is showing us more and more of her personality everyday. She is strong-willed and determined. This evening she found a head band of mine she wanted to wear (it is one of the hard ones that just sits on your head and is tight behind your ears). She spent a few minutes trying to put it on herself before seeking some help. When I put it on her head she smiled so big and continued playing. Before long she would take it off, then try to put it back on, ask for help and I would put it on her head. This went on for a while until she was sleepy and it was time for bed. We climbed in bed to read some stories while Kylie drank some milk, she insisted on keeping the headband on (major protesting when I tried to take it off), then it was time to nurse and I figured there was no way the headband would be comfortable on her head while she was laying on her side to nurse. As soon at I tried to take it off she protested again. So I tried to place it on her head without it digging into the side of her head (the headband is to big, so it doesn't fit the way it should) she was not interested unless it was on the right way. So she decided that it was not time to sleep, it was time to get up and play so she could keep her headband on. So we played for a while until she got sleepy again, I decided we would go on a walk with her in the carrier so the headband would not hurt her head while she fell asleep. Two times during the walk the headband slipped back a little and she stopped nursing, opened her eyes and grabbed for the headband and would hand it to me to put it back on. She was being so silly, when I would put it on, she would smile, go back to nursing and close her eyes again. It was as if all was not right in the world unless she was wearing the headband. She is fast asleep now and I was able to sneak the headband away after I found it laying across her neck the last time I checked on her. I will be curious to see if she cares about it tomorrow, her tastes seem to change everyday.
Kylie now knows what a horse and a bear say, she is also very good and saying milk and please in sign language. We have been going next door to play with Misheel and Sarah almost everyday, we are so glad to have such wonderful neighbors.
A few photos and it's bed time :o)
