A week with Grammy and Grandpa Johnson and Uncle Tim's wedding.

Kylie has a busy week visiting Grammy and Grandpa Johnson...

We had a girls day and got our nails done a few days before Uncle Tim's wedding. Although Kylie didn't get her nails done, she enjoyed running around the salon.

At T & T wedding. Kylie did a great job sitting on my lap during the ceremony, at one point she said "dada" and I thought she might try to join Craig and all the groomsmen up front, but luckily she stayed cuddled close to me.

Kylie found the flower girls basket and walked around with it for a little bit, she tossed the peddles out and would put them back in, getting some good practice for her possible future flower girl opportunities.

It was so wonderful to see Jill and Mike, they made the trip all the way from NY.

Lane, Alisa, Erica, Grammy Diana, Destiny, Quin and Jill at the reception.

The happy couple, Tim and Taylor.

The next day was uncle Kyles birthday. We visited some farm animals at the neighbors house. Kylie has been getting better with all her animal sounds so it was fun for her to see a real goat, horse and cow (she knows all the sounds, although some times "mooo" comes out sounding more like "moon")

This horse liked the hay so much that she tried to get a little more and accidentally nibbled Kylie's hair, silly horse.

We travel in mass, yep, all of use headed out to see the farm animals, it was a big adventure for our little city mouse.

"come here donkey"

Kylie enjoyed looking at the animals, but did not want to be put down and was not eager to touch any of them. She seems a little more at home when she is wearing sun glasses, necklaces and carrying a purse :o)

A family trip to the new frozen yogurt spot in town. Kylie enjoyed some fresh fruit while the rest of us had some very yummy yogurt.

She entertained us with all her silly faces, she loves having such a big audience.

Although the live animals were not her favorite, she loves petting the fake bunnies and turtles at Grammy's house. She would pat the head and say "ahh ahh"

Just taking an afternoon walk with my purse and stroller. When did she grow up so fast?

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted. It is amazing how fast time go by. Kylie is talking more and more, she is such a good communicator, it is so fun. She has one molar, on her bottom left, that recently broke through and she seems to be working on a few more. She is getting more coordinated and can go up and down stairs pretty well. She is also almost running. She says "no" to everything, "did you have a good nap?" "no" "do you want to play with mommy and daddy" "no" etc... So we are trying to make sure we don't always ask her if she wants to do things when she does not have a choice (do you want to take a bath? or do you want your diaper changed?) we want her "no" to actually mean "no" so we are trying to be respectful of her opinion and give her choices when we can. She says "no" in such a sweet way, I'm sure that will not always be the case, but we are hoping to start getting a few more "yes's" from her soon. We also have a bird that made a nest by our front door and when we got back from the wedding there were two little baby birds up there with the mommy. I wish Kylie was old enough to care, but Craig and I still think its pretty cool.

Kylie is still nursing all the time. She is getting so strong and determined that I have to be careful when I am carrying her in public, she does not hesitate to pull down my shirt and help herself to a snack whenever she feels like it. We are also still enjoying having her sleep with us. Our new king size bed has been wonderful although we did wake up the other morning, both Craig and I on the very edge of the bed while Kylie had her feet in my chest and her head in Craig's. She is getting so long, we really notice it when she is sleeping, we think back when she was first born and how small she was sleeping between us. We miss that little baby but we are madly in love with our little toddler.

Kylie has company

Over the past few days Kylie has been quite the host. My good friend Stephanie and her husband Joe, brought their two beautiful children over for a play day while they were in town (they live in Las Vegas). It would have been nice for them to get a little break from the Las Vegas heat, but yesterday it was just as hot here as it was in Vegas, 102, yuck. So needless to say we stayed inside. Today it was much more reasonable, 92 degrees, and Kylie got a visit from Misheel. It was fun to have her over for a little bit today. Kylie loves spending time with her and asks about her all day long, "Me Me, Me Me?" while she points to the house next door. When she saw Misheel coming up the front steps today, Kylie squealed, laughed and "ran" to the front door, I couldn't believe how excited she got. And while Misheel was here Kylie tried to give her so many hugs and kisses, so sweet.

Today Kylie and I went to visit my Grandparents. We also visited on Mother's Day and enjoyed a little swim in their pool. It was Kylie's first swim this year and she really enjoyed it. We have a few floatation devices for her, but I think we might have to get some water wings, she liked kicking around while we held her. We are also thinking we should start some swing lessons, it's scary to have a toddler around water, Craig sees too many sad stories at work. Anyway, during our visit with the grandparents today, Kylie got to watch their turtle, Harold, eat some watermelon. She was fasinated. He walked up to her a few times and she was not so sure about him, but she liked watching from a far. She touched his shell and foot, maybe next time we will give him a bath :o)

Here are a few photos from the past few days. My Mother's Day gift was a photo class out in Pasadena. I get to take the class on June 1st and I can hardly wait! I'm sure I will have even more photos to share once I know how to work with my camera even more :o)

Ready to go swimming, she even had water shoes on too!

One of Kylie's favorite toys right now, I wish she would play with her softer balls, it's a little scary when she walks around the house throwing a real baseball.

The past few days she has insisted on wearing her sunglasses, even when she is inside, silly girl.

Playing with Stephanie's little boy, Liam (almost 2 years old)

Stephanie's baby girl Leyla (4 months old)

They sat there together for a while, both banging on the keys and "talking" with each other.

Misheel playing on the slide that we put in the living room (trying to keep it out of the heat)

Kylie wanted Misheel to put these on, we had a couple of cool babies on our hands.

Misheel took a turn on the piano too.

14 Months Old Already?!

I realize it is one day late, but still worth posting. I can not believe our little monkey is already 14 months old!!!!! I know we have said it time and time again, but the reality doesn't change, this is all going by WAY to fast! Kylie is showing us more and more of her personality everyday. She is strong-willed and determined. This evening she found a head band of mine she wanted to wear (it is one of the hard ones that just sits on your head and is tight behind your ears). She spent a few minutes trying to put it on herself before seeking some help. When I put it on her head she smiled so big and continued playing. Before long she would take it off, then try to put it back on, ask for help and I would put it on her head. This went on for a while until she was sleepy and it was time for bed. We climbed in bed to read some stories while Kylie drank some milk, she insisted on keeping the headband on (major protesting when I tried to take it off), then it was time to nurse and I figured there was no way the headband would be comfortable on her head while she was laying on her side to nurse. As soon at I tried to take it off she protested again. So I tried to place it on her head without it digging into the side of her head (the headband is to big, so it doesn't fit the way it should) she was not interested unless it was on the right way. So she decided that it was not time to sleep, it was time to get up and play so she could keep her headband on. So we played for a while until she got sleepy again, I decided we would go on a walk with her in the carrier so the headband would not hurt her head while she fell asleep. Two times during the walk the headband slipped back a little and she stopped nursing, opened her eyes and grabbed for the headband and would hand it to me to put it back on. She was being so silly, when I would put it on, she would smile, go back to nursing and close her eyes again. It was as if all was not right in the world unless she was wearing the headband. She is fast asleep now and I was able to sneak the headband away after I found it laying across her neck the last time I checked on her. I will be curious to see if she cares about it tomorrow, her tastes seem to change everyday.

Kylie now knows what a horse and a bear say, she is also very good and saying milk and please in sign language. We have been going next door to play with Misheel and Sarah almost everyday, we are so glad to have such wonderful neighbors.

A few photos and it's bed time :o)

Usually Kylie and I are up when Craig gets home from work, not yesterday morning :o)

We had a wonderful visit with the Tervoort family, Craig finally got to meet baby Sky and Kylie enjoyed hanging out with the big girls.

Lots of hugs and kisses from Raine.

Family Photos for Punchkin's 5th Birthday, GO GIANTS!

I can't believe it has been a whole week since I posted anything. I have asked Craig a few times to write an entry (I miss reading his creative ways of describing our days) but he has declined, so once again you are stuck with me. This past week has been busy and fun. Kylie is growing so fast, it is amazing. She is very good at walking now and sometimes she almost starts running, she is keeping us on our toes. Since we have no lack of photos of our little bunny, here are a few from this past week...

Our neighbors have a pack-n-play full of balls! Kylie loved it!

This is how she likes to sit and read stories, this one was Good Night Moon. She will go through and point at the kitties on each page and say "meow." (notice she is wearing a necklace and bracelets, even with her PJ's on)

A little family photo shoot in our Giants gear in honor of Punchkin's (our Build-a-Bear/Kylie's older brother) 5th birthday (and the Giants were playing the Dodgers, and it was a nice cloudy day) I am still amazed Kylie will look straight at the camera and smile even when the timer is set and no one is back there.

I was setting the timer then I would run down to them, scoop up Kylie and we would smile while the camera took a series of about 6 shots. Kylie would get so excited when I would come running that we decided to capture that moment too.

Her favorite thing these days is the sandbox! She does a lot of hard work out there in the back yard.

Poor Punchkin got introduced to the sandbox for his birthday.

More sandbox time, our next door neighbor Misheel has even come over a few days to enjoy the box too!

We celebrated my friend Chris's "Nerdy 30" birthday. It was so fun, the party was on a patio at a restaurant downtown Redlands. There were about 7 other kids there (including Chris's girls Ella and Brooklyn), Kylie had so much fun running around with the big girls and chewing on pizza crust.

Gotta love this little pumpkin first thing in the morning, PJ's, necklace, purse and wearing my eye cover as a headband, so fancy.
